Henshin was founded by Rob Pereyda, an industry veteran with nearly 20 years of experience in Japanese anime, manga, and games. Rob has spent his career, including a decade in Japan, focusing on leveraging technology to accelerate growth and innovation in the space.
His previous in-house leadership experience includes vice president roles at major sector players like Crunchyroll (USA & Japan), Bandai Namco (Japan), and VIZ Media (USA), as well as the Head of Anime, Editorial & Publishing role at Netflix (Japan).
Holding a bachelors degree in Chemistry from Santa Clara University, Rob’s interdisciplinary skills are complimented by active memberships in the U.S.-Japan Council and the Producers Guild of America.

- Created Crunchyroll’s revenue-sharing SVOD system/model (now >15M subscribers) and established its content acquisition pipeline closing deals for over 60 initial simulcasts (Case Study)
- Founded ShiftyLook, Bandai Namco’s classic IP incubator, seeing release of 25 titles across webcomics, animated series, and new games
- Launched Omakase, Viewster’s hybrid video/merchandise subscription, achieving successive 100% growth each billing cycle
- Executive produced VIZ Media’s first original anime production, Seis Manos
- Led internal anime strategy groups, roadshows, and initiatives to help increase anime viewing on Netflix by >50% in 2020 (Now >3B hours viewing in 1H 2023) (Case Study)
